communication and culture

Culture is communication and communication is culture. Here the question arises that are we communicating because of our culture, or because of communication culture developed?

When people started interacting, exchanging their thoughts, this is we can call as communication.
And when they started to develop the way of life, language, habitat, their sacred things it become their culture. We cannot say that what is first? But these both are very important factor of human beings life.

While communicating culture plays very important role in it. The relation of a spoke person with another person or masses is totally depending upon the cultural backgrounds of that person or masses.

There are some words in English language that means the same but use differently in different societies. For example, the word hood means the front side of the car used in Europe where the word bonnet, means the same used in India and US.

When we talk about the Indian society there is huge importance for culture in day to day life. Our writings in media should not hurt anyone’s emotions.
Senior family member passes the traditions to the junior members of family. This is transformation of culture. This happens because of communication.

While creating media related writing we should always consider the local aspect of the words that we used. They might be unknown for the readers.
There should not be clash of meanings. Otherwise people take offence and become aggressive.

You cannot write in high English when your target audience is rural people. Even writing in their own language you must know the background of that society. That’s why while creating context for television, internet, radio and newspapers, culture is communication and communication is culture means a lot.
